The Friends of the Rylander Theatre
Saturday, September 10, 2016
The Friends of the Rylander Theatre present a double feature of laughs: two of Mel Brooks' most loved - and most irreverent - comedies shown back-to-back in an historic theatre setting.
Both films typify the witty and bawdy humor for which actor/director Mel Brooks is known. In History of the World: Part 1, Brooks attempts to cover the history of mankind, from the dawn of time and the Old Testament all the way to the high note of the French Revolution, all in a series of comedic vignettes. Known for its star-studded cast, the film features Brooks himself in several roles, as well as Gregory Hines, Dom DeLuise, and Harvey Korman.
Young Frankenstein, starring Gene Wilder, Madeline Kahn, and Terri Garr, is the hilarious story of the American grandson of the infamous Dr. Frankenstein. The younger Frankenstein is invited to Transylvania and struggles to shake off the stigma of his family name. While there he discovers the process to reanimate a corpse and does so - along with teaching it to sing and dance as well.

Young Frankenstein - 9:00PM
